Obituary

Hokko Yacht Club

Commodore Hayato Nakamura

I regret the sudden announcement of the passing of one of our members.

Mr. Nakakita, Hokko Yacht Club ex-Commodore passed away early in the morning of April 9, 2014. For the past three years he had been battling with cancer as he worked so hard for the club and the users of the yacht harbor.

The success of the Melbourne to Osaka Double-handed Yacht Race can also be largely attributed to Mr. Nakakita.

I know that he wished to see the new incarnation of the harbor but I heard from his family that his face was calm and relaxed at the end so I know he has now left that up to us. So we will have to work together to build the new harbor and club.

Let us put our hands together in prayer for Mr. Nakakita.

In accordance with the deceased wishes, the wake and funeral will be held quickly.

I know everyone is busy but I do hope that you will attend and we can talk together about our friend.
